I live in Durham NC with my partner, 2 cats and a big silly dog. I am a full time web developer who loves to cook, eat, garden, knit and hopes for more hours in the day to pack it all in.
Shopping for local foods from the Durham Farmers Market, and expanding my veggie garden gives me an abundance of amazing fresh heirloom produce to experiment with.
I’m a long time vegetarian making an effort to eat more locally grown and produced foods, as well as grow more of my own in the backyard. I love to try odd recipes and vegetables that I have never seen before and invite unsuspecting friends over to try it with me.
Being passionate about composting, recycling, and always looking for new ways to save money and be greener at the same time seems to have become my other part time job.
I currently write for my own blog: Geek, Poet, Housewife Wannabe, and have blogged for chowSpice, YeahTips, and also write for the Wellfed Network on Growers and Grocers and Fit Fare.

Have a nice day !
you are awesome!

hey kathy – cool blog. i’ll definitely try some of your recipes…..and maybe some knitting advice, as well! fyi, the term i was stumbling upon earlier is macrobiotics. don’t know much, but i’ve heard the practice is centered on eating locally produced foods, with an emphasis on whole grains, veggies, etc.
talk to you soon!
